Terms and Conditions
Effective date: July 2026
Business name: Sharon Michelle
Email: hello@sharon-michelle.com
These Booking Terms and Conditions apply to Pilates classes, one-to-one sessions, workshops, events and related in-person services provided by Sharon Michelle.
By completing a booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
1. Services
Services may include:
- Group mat Pilates classes.
- One-to-one Pilates sessions.
- Pilates workshops and events.
- Class packages or promotional offers where advertised.
The description, date, time, location, duration and price of each service will be shown when you book.
These terms do not currently apply to future online subscriptions, digital programmes or on-demand classes. Separate terms will be provided before those services are introduced.
2. Bookings
Places are subject to availability and should be booked in advance through the Sharon Michelle booking page.
A booking is confirmed once the booking process has been completed and any required payment has been received.
You are responsible for checking that you have selected the correct class, session, date, time and location before confirming your booking.
Booking confirmations, receipts, reminders and class information will be sent using the contact details you provide. You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and checking your confirmation.
Bookings may not be transferred to another person without prior agreement.
3. Prices and payments
The price displayed at the time of booking is the amount payable for that service.
Payment is required when booking unless another arrangement has been agreed in writing.
Any discount, class package or promotional offer is subject to the conditions displayed at the time of purchase.
Prices may be changed for future bookings. A price change will not affect a booking that has already been confirmed and paid for.
4. Group-class cancellations and rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a group-class booking through the booking system, where this option is available, or by contacting Sharon Michelle.
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a group-class booking.
Where at least 24 hours’ notice is provided, you may transfer your booking to another available class or receive a booking credit, subject to availability and any validity period attached to the original purchase.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, or you do not attend, the booking will normally be treated as used and no refund, transfer or credit will be provided. This is because a limited class place has been reserved and may not be filled at short notice.
Where the place is successfully filled by another paying participant, Sharon Michelle may offer a transfer or booking credit.
Exceptional circumstances may be considered individually, but a refund, transfer or credit is not guaranteed.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.
5. One-to-one session cancellations
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or rearrange a one-to-one Pilates session.
Where at least 24 hours’ notice is provided, the session may be rearranged once, subject to availability.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, or you do not attend, the session will normally be treated as used and the full fee will remain payable because the appointment time was reserved specifically for you.
Exceptional circumstances may be considered individually.
6. Class packages and promotional offers
Any class package, bundle or promotional offer must be used in accordance with the conditions displayed when it is purchased.
Class packages and offers:
- May only be used for eligible classes or services.
- Are subject to class availability.
- May not normally be shared or transferred to another person.
- Must be used within any stated validity period.
- Are not normally refundable once partly used.
Purchasing a package does not automatically reserve a place in a particular class. Each class must still be booked in advance unless the booking system confirms otherwise.
Where Sharon Michelle cancels a class included within a package, an appropriate transfer, credit or extension will be provided.
7. Cancellation or changes by Sharon Michelle
A class, session or event may occasionally need to be cancelled or changed because of circumstances such as:
- Instructor illness.
- Venue unavailability.
- Insufficient participant numbers.
- Severe weather.
- Safety concerns.
- Circumstances outside reasonable control.
Where Sharon Michelle cancels a service, you will be offered one of the following:
- A transfer to another suitable date.
- A booking credit.
- A refund for the affected booking.
Where there is a significant change to the date, time or location and you cannot attend, you may request a transfer, credit or refund.
Sharon Michelle will not normally be responsible for unrelated expenses such as travel, parking, childcare or accommodation costs, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
8. Minimum attendance
Group classes, workshops and events may require a minimum number of participants to proceed.
Where the minimum number has not been reached, the class or event may be cancelled. You will be informed as soon as reasonably possible and offered a transfer, credit or refund.
9. Arrival and late attendance
Please arrive in enough time to prepare and be ready for the start of your class or session.
The warm-up and introductory instructions are an important part of the session.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, admission may be refused where joining late would be unsafe or disruptive.
Where admission is refused because of late arrival, the booking will normally be treated as used.
10. Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire (PAR-Q)
New participants must complete the Sharon Michelle Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire (PAR-Q) before attending their first class or session.
The questionnaire helps to identify relevant health considerations and whether further information, exercise adaptations or medical guidance may be required.
Answering “Yes” to a question does not automatically prevent you from participating. Sharon Michelle may contact you privately to request further information before confirming whether the class or session appears appropriate.
You must inform Sharon Michelle before participating if there has been any relevant change to your:
- Health or medical condition.
- Medication.
- Injury, pain or physical limitation.
- Pregnancy or postnatal status.
- Recent surgery.
- Ability to participate safely.
The Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire (PAR-Q) is a screening tool. It is not a medical examination, diagnosis or substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Where the Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire has not been completed, admission to the class or session may be refused.
11. Pregnancy and postnatal participation
Friday Flow and other general group classes are not currently advertised as specialist pre- or postnatal classes.
Please contact Sharon Michelle before booking or attending if you are pregnant or postnatal so that the suitability of the class or session can be discussed.
Participation may be declined or postponed where the required support falls outside Sharon Michelle’s current qualifications, professional scope or insurance arrangements.
12. Participant responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing complete and accurate information.
- Informing Sharon Michelle of relevant changes to your health or circumstances.
- Following reasonable instructions and safety guidance.
- Working within a comfortable range appropriate to your ability.
- Informing Sharon Michelle if you experience pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath or other concerning symptoms.
- Stopping an exercise where necessary.
- Seeking medical advice where advised or where you have concerns about your health.
- Wearing appropriate clothing.
- Using equipment responsibly.
- Not attending when you are unwell or may have an infectious illness.
Participation is voluntary. You should not continue an exercise merely because another participant is performing it.
Exercise options and adaptations may be offered, but you remain responsible for communicating how you feel during the session.
13. Nature of group Pilates classes
Group classes are designed for several participants and are not a substitute for individual medical care, physiotherapy, rehabilitation or medical treatment.
Although reasonable exercise options and adaptations may be offered, a group class cannot be individually prescribed or continuously supervised in the same way as a one-to-one session.
Sharon Michelle does not diagnose medical conditions or provide medical treatment.
14. Conduct
Participants must treat Sharon Michelle, other participants, venue staff and property respectfully.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, disruptive or unsafe behaviour will not be accepted.
Sharon Michelle may refuse admission or ask a participant to leave where this is reasonably necessary to protect safety, wellbeing or the experience of others.
A refund will not normally be provided where someone is refused admission or removed because of their own serious or repeated misconduct.
15. Personal belongings and venue rules
You are responsible for your personal belongings while attending a class, session or event.
Sharon Michelle is not responsible for loss, theft or damage that was not caused by a failure to exercise reasonable care.
You must follow any reasonable rules imposed by the studio or venue, including rules relating to access, footwear, equipment and use of the premises.
16. Photography and recording
Photographs or video recordings will only be taken or used for promotional purposes where appropriate permission has been requested.
Agreeing to photography or filming is not a condition of attending a class or session.
Participants may not photograph, film or record Sharon Michelle or another participant without prior permission.
17. Responsibility and liability
Sharon Michelle will provide services with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Services not provided with reasonable care and skill.
- Any other responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
Sharon Michelle will not normally be responsible for loss or injury resulting from:
- Relevant information that you failed to disclose or update.
- Ignoring reasonable instructions or safety guidance.
- Participating against medical advice.
- Unauthorised or unsafe use of equipment.
- Circumstances that could not reasonably have been foreseen or prevented.
These terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
18. Intellectual property
Class plans, teaching materials, written programmes, videos, handouts, branding and other original materials provided by Sharon Michelle remain the intellectual property of Sharon Michelle unless stated otherwise.
Materials are provided for your personal use and must not be copied, recorded, sold, shared publicly or used to provide services to another person without prior written permission.
19. Privacy and personal information
Personal information will be collected and handled in accordance with the Sharon Michelle Privacy Policy, which is available here.
Agreement to these Booking Terms does not replace any separate consent required for processing health information.
Explicit consent relating to health information will be requested separately through the Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire (PAR-Q).
20. Complaints
Questions or complaints should initially be sent to:
Email: hello@sharon-michelle.com
Please include your name, relevant booking details and a clear description of the issue.
Sharon Michelle will consider complaints fairly and respond within a reasonable period.
21. Changes to these terms
These Booking Terms and Conditions may be updated when services, booking arrangements or legal requirements change.
The current version will be published on the Sharon Michelle website with its effective date.
Changes will apply to future bookings. Material changes will not be applied retrospectively to an existing confirmed booking without your agreement unless required by law.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer from relying on any mandatory legal rights that apply to them.
